Dear friends of Extended Global Medical Training and the Adelaide Anaesthesia Festival, we are very excited to make a couple of announcements today and update everyone on our progress. But, alas, we will start this up-date with some sad news.
A couple of months ago, Dr Johanna Somfleth informed us about her withdrawal as a Charity and Festival Director. She has been a fundamental part of the creation of our charity, and we would like to thank her for all the hard work she has committed.
Naturally, it took a while to find someone to fill the gap that she leaves behind, but we are very happy to announce that Dr Gilberto Arenas has joined us as a Director. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome.
We are also excited to announce that the 2nd Adelaide Anaesthesia Festival will take place in February 2023. The exact dates will be announced later this year.
Our focus was on sending conference call/video equipment to support online learning and medical textbooks to Papua New Guinea in the past twelve months. We also arranged for some doctors to join online classes at the University of Adelaide with a primary focus on research methodology. Once the borders are open for travel, we hope to travel to Papua New Guinea for face-to-face training again.
We provide world class medical education in South Australia, the rest of Australia and Overseas
We train Medical Professionals including doctors, nurses, and medical students to set them up for success.
We encourage interchange programs between medical professionals in developing countries and Australia
We use all our proceeds to support medical professionals in areas of need and in developing countries.
